DLC serves children as young as six weeks up to school aged children in the third grade. We transport to and from Sewell Elementary School every public school day. DLC offers :  All day,  Half day, Extended care, and Swimming instruction programs Two, Three, or Five days a week to accommodate a large variety of schedules.

DLC’s Summer Program places your child according to their age and maturity with an experienced qualified teacher in one of our eight stimulating classrooms. The whole child's development: emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually is important to us. Our value-based, well-rounded program includes art activities, music, storytelling, interest centers and even the culinary arts.

We use the "High Reach" curriculum to teach reading, writing, science, social studies, and number readiness. Fine motor skills are developed through the use of a wide variety of manipulative materials and toys.

Our two specially designed shaded playgrounds offer specific age groups all kinds of activities. There is lots of room for bike riding and swinging as well as a special western village and elaborate climbing equipment to play on. From the time you enter the school there are large animals to greet you, each has a name and many come from stories the children have learned.

Ms. Beth, our director of almost twenty years, involves the children in caring for the many plants that have planted in the garden out front. There’s even a specially designed in-ground swimming pool where children three years and older are taught to swim by a Certified Water Safety Instructor. We offer carefully prepared breakfasts, lunches, and snacks where we sit down with your children sharing and developing good table manners.

DLC has been owned and operated by Roy and Joan Mills for over 30 years. Joan previously taught grades Kindergarten through 4th in a public school and also helped Roy run a child care center for 10 years on the East Coast. Our staff members are carefully chosen mature adults who are experienced in working with young children, many of whom have children of their own.
